Comparison

Competition is fierce in the arena of portable electronic chess sets, with options like the DGT Centaur and the Millennium Chess Genius Pro offering similar features. What sets the Talking Chess Academy Chess Set apart is its focus on educational content through its voice tutor and extensive game library. While others might offer more in terms of online integration, the hands-on, interactive learning experience here feels more personal and is perfect for those who prefer offline engagement.

User Tips / Usage Guide

  1. Begin on Easier Levels: Start with lower AI levels to get accustomed to the flow of the game and slowly move up as you feel comfortable.

  2. Use the "Why?" Feature: Anytime you're unsure of a move, press "Why?" to understand mistakes. It’s a great way to learn without feeling overwhelmed by chess theory books.

  3. Explore Classic Games: Dive into the master library to replay historic games. This can give you insight into strategies used by grandmasters.

  4. Carry It Everywhere: Take advantage of its portability for long trips. Keeping it in the included carrying bag ensures it stays protected.

  5. Battery Management: Always have spare AA batteries ready to avoid interruptions during a game.

  6. Utilize the Hint Function: If you're stuck, the hint function is a smart way to get a suggestion and learn new strategies as you play.

  7. Play Multi-Player: Switch to 2-player mode to challenge your friends and family, providing a social way to enjoy the game.

  8. Adjust the Volume: Change the volume settings according to your preference, especially if playing in a quiet environment.
